CELESTAS
                  CALENDAR

This adaptation of Galileo's Celestas calendar was a wall-mountable
piece that included phases of the moon, as well as the dates
for the equinoxes and solstices. I constructed pointers out
of balsa, and mounted the printed pieces with a foam core and
                  balsa sheets.

Construction of the piece was engineered so that I could insert
a working motor to run the main clock (which counts days of
the year), but weight constraints for hanging restricted the
insertion of mechanical parts when this piece was shown in a
gallery. The medium dial counts hours of the day, and the smallest
dial counts minutes of the hour.
